Innovations

Our main innovation is DORA Motion, an AI medical device that enables surgeons to access and easily manipulate patient images and information with only a few hand movements without touching any surface: it enables sterilised access to digital files and auxiliary software during  surgery. A demo of DORA Motion can be found on our YouTube channel. Additional innovations include:

  1. Applications for both skeleton tracking and body pose estimation for the healthcare sector as well as other sectors.
  2. Data collection using a motion capture system and multiple depth cameras, including  our own deep learning models.
  3. Mechanical prototype manufacturing in our own machinery workshop

Partnering Objectives

  1. To identify and solve real life problems with automated processes in order to improve quality of life using artificial intelligence. Such applications include, but not limited to:
  2. Human machine interaction and collaboration, simple robotic arm programming, gait analysis, action and inaction detection of elderly people, teaching sign language to computers so that mute people can interact remotely, etc.
  3. To provide our partners with the insights of our technology so that innovative applications for related industry sectors are co-developed.
  4. To jointly improve understanding and capabilities of both parties and share cutting edge know-how.

In an R&D partnership we can collect and annotate body pose data that are specific to the aim of the joint project, and develop AI models and applications. Furthermore, we can handle mechanical prototype manufacturing in our own machinery workshop.

Company Story

Biokido was founded by 4 entrepreneurs with the mission of contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of the healthcare industry by using artificial intelligence. Three of the co-founders have more than 20 years experience in the sector, and more specifically in distribution, sales and management. The fourth co-founder has worked on deep learning and artificial intelligence for more than 10 years both academically and professionally. As a result, we have been able to identify  problems within the sector and develop specific solutions tailored to addressing the problem. Our last product is a good example. We identified that the need for the use of digital images and auxiliary software during  surgery is increasing as the technology develops. Thus, we developed DORA Motion, which is a medical device that allows the surgeon to access the desired information which includes the patient's radiological images. Auxiliary software allows for  simple hand movements without touching the mouse and keyboard while maintaining a sterile environment. The product can also be connected to other computer- and mouse-controlled devices so that the surgeon can control the devices without physical contact.
